Painted illusion of stonework and plants.
These are smooth flat walls. All stonework and plants are completely flat and smooth to the touch.
The palm fronds in this mural were incorporated into the design because of the joyfull confusion of real-vs.-painted in a straight mural (Tranquility Garden) I painted in Pacific Pallisades a few years earlier.
I chose to simply ignore appliances like this air conditioner rather than paint them and have the paint flake off.
