Painted illusion of stonework and plants.
The real 1-inch chair rail and vertical column (far left) contribute to the challenge and confusion that make the illusion really stand out.
Note the stone at the bottom of the photo commemmorating the total eclypse of the sun which occured while I painted this mural.
I chose to leave items like the thermostat "as is", as I felt they might become quickly worn in a commercial space and look worse than if left alone.
