    The niche in the alcove, the columns and stonework are only painted architectural details.
    A "broken-edge" mirror enhances the effect of the illusion and completes the half-arch.
    Recessed lighting hiddenin the crown molding (not illuminated here) creates a wonderful ambience bouncing soft lighting off the domed ceiling.
